Remembering facts in context
Steven James (West Chester University)

This talk introduces the core idea of Epistemic Remembering using the remembering of facts as a case study. That idea is that remembering is a paradigmatic kind of epistemic success - it is a species of knowledge. In lieu of arguing for the claim, the goal will be to elucidate one way of developing it. Special attention will be paid to the way in which remembering that p positions one to be a reliable informant with respect to p (in the sense of Craig (1990) and Hannon (2019)). Consequently, special attention will also be paid to importance of contextual factors for the account.
